The Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association Nursing Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors accepted in or current students enrolled in an NLN-accredited program (LPN, AD, diploma or BSN) SELECTION CRITERIA: %u2022 Must be a resident of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia county in Pennsylvania; Burlington, Camden or Gloucester county in New Jersey or New Castle county in Delaware %u2022 Must demonstrate financial need %u2022 Preference given to an applicant who is related to or sponsored by a Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing Alum.

(All three requirements must be satisfied to be eligible) The applicant: 1. Must be a currently paid member of the PNAA through a Local Chapter or a member-at-large at least one full year by the date of the deadline for completing the online application. 2. Must be currently admitted to an accredited Nursing Master's, Nursing Post Master's, or Nursing Doctoral program. 3. Must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. Additional Eligibility Criteria/Requirement for an Applicant Whose Program is Not in the Nursing Field (e.g., MBA, PhD other than Nursing, etc.) The applicant: Must be a currently paid member of the PNAA through a Local Chapter or a member-at-large at least five continuous years by the date of the deadline for completing the online application. Must be currently working in the nursing field and must be holding a nursing title/position at least five continuous years by the date of the deadline for completing the online application. In addition to addressing the question "How will this scholarship assist in attaining my goal?", the applicant must articulate the following in the essay: How the currently enrolled program will benefit the profession of nursing. One's career pathway in nursing in the next five years. Important Information Current members may apply for the PNAA Nursing Scholarship Awards each year, but scholarships will only be awarded once while enrolled in each nursing program (i.e., once for Nursing Master's Degree, once for Nursing Post Master's Certificate, and once for Nursing Doctoral Degree). The application for the 2021 PNAA Scholarship Awards is online through Google Forms. To streamline the process, please read the instructions below to facilitate ease of completing the application.

1. Applicant must demonstrate some degree of financial need. 2. Applicant must be a full or part-time student enrolled in a baccalaureate degree nursing program and have accumulated enough credit hours to be at least at a Junior level. The applicant also may be an associate degree student returning to school or transferring for a baccalaureate degree nursing program or graduate degree nursing program. 3. Applicant must be in good academic standing, minimum 3.0 GPA. 4. Applicant must have demonstrated a commitment of service to others through employment, volunteer service, community service, etc. 5. We are proud to be the only member organization providing scholarships specifically to nurse educators.The NLN Foundation for Nursing Education offers scholarships of up to $8,000 each year to support the NLN's mission to build a strong and diverse nursing workforce to advance the health of the nation and the global community. These scholarships are awarded to nurses pursuing advanced degrees to advance their career as a full-time nurse educator. The funds are for master's or doctoral students enrolled in accredited programs who have completed at least a year of their academic program. The NLN Foundation wants encourage more experienced and ethnically diverse nurses to pursue advanced degrees to prepare for full-time positions as nurse educators. Eligible candidates must also be NLN members either through individual dues or through their employer schools' NLN membership.
