Be accepted to attend a four-year accredited California college or university by Fall semester or be enrolled for the school year. Lives in the state of California. Be an incoming college sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate student of at least 25 percent Hispanic descent. Graduate students must also have at least 25 percent Hispanic descent. Have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA and 3.0 GPA in their major subject. A desire to work in public relations/communications industries. Major in public relations, communications, journalism, advertising, and/or marketing. Be available to attend the HPRA PRemio Awards dinner on (Date TBD, 2017 )in Los Angeles. Volunteer for at least (2) HPRA-LA events in 2018 which can include Scholarship program outreach. Note: Students who have previously been awarded two scholarships from HPRA do not qualify for a third award.

The grant award will provide assistance in the amount of $1,500 to an undergraduate or graduate student currently attending an American college or university with a chosen field of study that includes course work in the areas of affordable housing and/or community and economic development and who exhibits financial need. Students may not be awarded a scholarship more than once. All applicants must be nominated by a member in good standing of NACCED.
